Spencer retired from a 23-year career flying for the U.S. Air Force. His flight experience in various aircraft supporting combat and training operations highlighted the need for American-made electronic hardware and harnesses. Spencer recognized an opportunity to develop his long-time interest in electronics after meeting Tim Crocker.
Tim is a graduate of Phoenix Institute of Technology electronics school and supervised production of electro-optics, radar, and guidance and control sections for various General Dynamics missile systems before beginning a law enforcement career. After retiring from the police force, he started Crocker Electronics Inc. producing electronic hardware and wire harnesses for aircraft.

The Assembly and Joining Process Committee of the IPC (formerly known as the Institute of Printed Circuits) is the preeminent authority on electronics assembly and manufacturing. Solder On employees are IPC J-STD-001 Application Specialists with industry traceable certificates.
